GREEN LANTERN: WAR OF THE LANTERNS

The big comic book companies of superheroes like Márvel and DC, they love to surprise to us from time to time with some super-event that shakes the foundations of all their universe or, in occasions of the history of some personage. It is the case of War of the Lanterns, a small event in which DC decided to revolutionize everything related to the world of Green Lantern.

The truth was that the situation had become a bit chaotic and, in fact, before the War of the Lanterns, Earth and all sector 2814 had run out of their Green Lantern protector. So a great and epic story was inevitable to solve the mess and settle the matter.

 

THE WAR OD THE LANTERNS, IN THE BEST HANDS

For this great crossover of the different Green Lantern series, DC chose Geoff Johns (The Darkest Night, Flashpoint), the creative genius behind the resurrection of the character and Peter Tomasi (Batman and Robin), responsible for the series Green Lantern Corps was the perfect complement to Green Lantern.

Doug Mahnke (Final Crisis), Tyler Kirkham (Green Lantern: New Guardians), Fernando Pasarín (JSA), Ed Benes (Red Lanterns) and Ardian Syaf (Batgirl) to join the story of the Green Lantern Corps to a climax full of epic!

 

THE WAR OF THE LANTERNS, AN EPIC HISTORY

The Guardians, have hidden some things and made many mistakes in their immortal existence. They forged power rings based on the green color of the «emotional spectrum,» willpower, with an emphasis on hiding the other colors and their respective emotions. They concealed the existence of the emotional spectrum, and a book of prophecies that predicted the appearance of other bodies with rings of power based on their respective emotion and color, with powers similar to those of the Green Lanterns, as well as the arrival of the night (Blackest Night), where the dead would be resurrected.

And the prophecy was fulfilled. After forging an alliance with the other colored lanterns, and with the help of the Enchantment and the White Lantern, the Green Lantern corps and the DC heroes managed to defeat Nekron, Black Hand and the Black Lanterns that possessed the Corpses of both heroes and villains.

But the tension between the different bodies of the different colors of the emotional spectrum continues, as well as between Green Lanterns and Guardians of the Universe …

Who will be the new Green Lantern on Earth? Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner are members of the Green Lantern Corps. But when a former enemy of the Corps gains control of the Guardians and each and every one of the ring bearers, these four men will be forced to face the entire Body of Green Lanterns … and themselves. Without their rings, Jordan and his comrades will have to overcome the impossible in order to find the power to stop the Green Lantern Corps in full, a crazed Guardian and the all-powerful entities of the emotional spectrum. And no matter what happens, the Body will not be free from this war … as neither will the Green Lanterns of planet Earth.
