THE HARLEM GLOBETROTTER AND THE JORDAN IDOL

This post is also available in: Español

The Harlem Globetrotter Tour and its “No limits” tour was arranged this year to September, following the health and safety conditions decreed by the government. The dates scheduled to enjoy the Globetrotters Tour will begin on September 11 in Malaga and end on September 20 in Barcelona.

The Harlem Globertrotters Tour always raises expectations among audiences of all ages, and has a legendary component for many reasons. And there are many legendary players who are part of the history of the legendary team.

Like Meadowlark Lemon, a historical man who passed away in December 2015, at the age of 83, and who was the idol of Michael Jordan. Meadowlark added up to 16,000 games played with the Globetrotters and a position in the Hall of Fame, in 2003. When Jordan was young, his aspiration was to be like Meadowlark, and there is no doubt that he knew very well how and who to be inspired by, such as the time showed.

The Long Wake of the Harlem Globetrotters Tour

He was a true pioneer who turned basketball into more than just a sport: a show capable of bringing the whole family together, reaching more people than ever. In addition to his undeniable talent on the court, Meadowlark Lemon displayed an overwhelming personality: he was charismatic, funny, ironic, and even tongue-tied. I had no qualms about making statements like this:

“We played 350 games a year. In my career I have played more than 16,000 games. An NBA player would need to play 160 games a year for 100 seasons to reach my record”.
